Why is the engine getting hot? Modern cooling systems are designed to cool the engine in even the warmest climates and conditions. Additionally, most factory temperature gauges are notoriously slow to move. This all means that if your temperature gauge is showing warm, something is wrong, and should be repaired immediately. A hot engine will fail very quickly, even if it seems to otherwise be performing normally

Recommendation:

In general, pre-ignition and thus power loss are just normal consequences of a very hot engine. Have a mechanic check your cooling system
